Ford Design Competition
Got
a burning desire to get one of your ideas into the next car? If you are
interested in anything design or automotive, this is a unique opportunity made
available to you by Ford and ASME. Forming groups of 3-5 students, this year’s
theme is to design a feature or innovation that addresses sustainability.
Registration forms will be mailed out separately – please send an email to
Xingyuan Wang (xwang22@uiuc.edu) if you are
interested. Once ASME receives the paperwork and contest rules from Ford, it
will be forwarded to the interested parties immediately. The paperwork should
be returned to the ASME mailbox in room 158 MEB.
Signups are due by September 7 – slots are filling up quickly, so get
your paperwork in today!

Joint SWE-AIChe-ASME meeting with Dow

(Society of Women Engineers) and AIChe (American Institute of Chemical
Engineers) are hosting a general meeting with Dow Corning. To take advantage of
this opportunity to network with other societies and to learn more about
careers with a leader in the chemicals business, all while enjoying free pizza,

ASME Soccer League
For
all those who are interested, ASME is trying to set up a soccer team for the
fall intramural league. Come join us and represent ASME on the
pitch! For those who are new to the intramural program, it is a great way
to meet some new faces and have a great time all while keeping in
shape. Sign up on the ASME website before September 4th, so
we can get a head count and see if there are enough people to form a team.
