            1. ASME Exec Board Elections!!

            ASME is one of the most prominent Engineering Societies on campus, winning numerous awards every year.  This year, it has won second place in Homecoming and first in EOH. Becoming an executive officer of this society can advance your career significantly. The Election Petition Deadline is April 20, 2007 at 5pm, so submit your entries to Mike at mkhong1@uiuc.edu as soon as possible!!!  ASME Election Petition

 

            2. Tech Elect Night

            Date: Tuesday April 10th

            Time: 5:00 PM

            Place: 119 MSEB

            Our Tech Elect Night is coming up! Come see which technical electives you would like to take next semester. Talk to your peers and come to a Q&A session by MechSe professors Harry Dankowizc, Brian G. Thomas, Elizabeth Hsiao-Wecksler, Ning Wang, Herman Krier, Martin Ostoja-Starzewski, and others. Classes offered include undergraduate and graduate classes. Class registration for next semester, starts soon, so get prepared by coming to our tech elect night! As always, FREE PIZZA!!  Questions?             3. Peer Advising

            Date: Thursday April 12th

            Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

            Place: MEL Lounge

            Looking for some advice on which electives or GenEds to take, or how to successfully balance your schedule? Get some help before registration from upperclassmen and graduate students while enjoying a delicious meal. This is an informal event with plenty of upperclassmen that have been in your shoes, so drop by anytime between 5 and 7pm! Questions? E-mail Mike at mkhong1@uiuc.edu.

 

            4. Philanthropy

                  

            Relay For Life is on Saturday April 20th. But before that there is an upcoming event with Qdoba. Fliers will be handed out for our team and for every meal (entrée and drink) you purchase at Qdoba from April 7th-13th with one of the fliers; our team will get a dollar donated to Relay For Life. The fliers will be available April 4th. On Tuesday April 10th there will be canning on the quad. Also before the official event on Saturday April 20th we will be cleaning up our adopted path. To help out with any of the events, to get fliers, or to get more information please contact Sarah at sbrewer2@uiuc.edu.

           

 

            5. Paintballing

          Date: Saturday April 28th

            Place: Saltfork Paint Ball

            Time: 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM

            Cost: $15

            ASME will be hosting a Paintball event on Saturday April 28th. The cost includes gun, mask, 4 hours of play, 500 paint balls, and a 9oz CO2 can. Food will be provided.             6. FE Registration and Review Sessions

 

ASME and professors from the College of Engineering are hosting review classes over the course of several weeks before the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam.  The next review session is April 11th in 119 MSEB and costs only $10 for the remaining 3 sessions so sign-up fast!  You can sign-up by e-mailing Mike at mkhong1@uiuc.edu or coming to the next session.
