To answer these common questions and shed light on the working engineering world, plan to attend the ME for Me Conference on February 10, 2007! Engineers from seven companies and a representative from Engineering Career Services will discuss the various career paths and choices available to mechanical engineers. In addition to industry exposure, students will also receive a participation gift, lunch, and a chance to win one of several prizes. Registration is required and free – but hurry! 1. EOH Committee Meeting

For those of you who don’t know what the Engineering Open House is, it is an annual, free, and public showcasing of the projects of engineering students at the University of Illinois. ASME is preparing an exhibit again, and we need your help! The next meeting for the EOH committee is Wednesday, January 31 at 6:30 pm in the Student Lounge in MEB.  If you would like more information or would like to find out how you can help prepare this year’s exhibit, please attend.  The projects currently underway for ASME are a penny smasher and a hovercraft!

  1. Professor Lunches

Our next professor lunch is with Professor Andreas A. Polycarpou, a professor in the MechSe Department. It will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Flat Top Grill, which is on 6th Street just north of Green Street. We have another one with Professor Jassim on Tuesday, February 6th, 12:00PM – 1:00 PM also at Flat Top Grill. Sign up at http://asme.ec.uiuc.edu/signups.php. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon!
